Peter van der Velden

In October 1999 I visited Armenia and spent 3 weeks with family of Armenian refugees I had met in the Netherlands. Proud as Armenians can be of their culture and heritage, they showed me historical sites throughout the country.

Personally I prefer to get to know a country by wandering through the streets of cities, in this case the capital Yerevan and the religious center of the Armenian Church, Etchmiadzin. That is where these photos were taken.
